What Ethical Approach to Regulate Access to And Care For Patients In Critical Care in the Context Of the Covid-19 Pandemic?
Abstract
COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant increase in the number of critical care hospitalized patients. Although measures were quickly implemented in an attempt to address them, the Jordon hospital system has been undermined, with specific ethical challenges, in particular that of prioritizing care due to lack of human and material resources. In these situations, there is a real risk for health care practitioners, who are exposed conflicts of values, but also for patients, who are subject to the risk of arbitrary decisions. This article proposes to focus on the ethical issues specific to this pandemic and to analyze the ethical approach proposed in the literature to respond to them
