Investing in common stocks represents one of the important investment decisions, and this is due to the increase in the trading volume of these stocks by the companies issuing them, which requires that their movements be a reflection of the information issued by these companies. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the impact of building the investment portfolio on return and risk, which was conducted on (6) companies registered in the Iraqi Stock Exchange, and conclusions were reached, the most important of which is that diversifying the investment portfolio has a role in increasing returns and reducing unsystematic risks.
