The conflict around the Isiboro Sécure National Park Indigenous Territory : A multidimensional conflict

Publicado 2014-05-04

Resumo

The conflict around the highway project that intends to cross the Isiboro Sécure National Park Indigenous Territory (TIPNIS) in Bolivia is analyzed. Starting from the premise that it is a multidimensional conflict, he studies the interrelationships and tensions between economic, ecological and cultural debates; and thus immerses himself in the analysis of each of the dimensions. The theoretical and analytical contributions of political ecology and development anthropology are of central importance. The text shows how this specific conflict confronts Bolivia with its process of change and opens a gap to broader and more complex debates about the development model that the Plurinational State seeks to achieve and the role that natural resources will play in it.
