Morna Macleod and Natalia de Marinis (2018) Resisting Violence. Emotional Communities in Latin America

Abstrak

The book by Morna Macleod and Natalia De Marinis deals with different experiences of popular resistance to violence -whether of the State and structural-, and where the reconstruction of the events is done through the testimony of the actors with mediation commitment of academics - who in their profession "of being witnesses" - develop long-term ties of solidarity and empathy. In this work of listening and reconstructing events and acts of violence, the authors and collaborators of the book explore theoretically, methodologically and empirically the term "emotional communities in order to trace the political-emotional impacts that the testimony of pain generated in an extended public that responds through advocacy, reporting, support and documentation.
