The original peoples in Argentina. Representations for a problematic characterization

Publié-e 2021-05-21

Résumé

he constitutional proposal and the legal-political devices that guarantee the recognition of the original Argentine peoples carry the weight of the system of representations that historically, but also even today, have been built around the meanings that define the National identity. This situation is correlated with a productive structure that, due to its dynamics and characteristics, goes against the grain of the main claim of these peoples: the right to the territories that they ancestrally occupy. One of the keys to understanding this situation is the historical model of occupation of rural space and the impact of the constant expansion of the agrarian frontier for the production of grains, especially soybeans, linked to the world market.
