Resumen

This article aims to answer the questions: how do the central characters and narrators of the novel El águila y la Serpent describe, how do they live and how are the space in Mexico represented ?Indeed, this text allows us to reflect, among other things, on the role played by the representation of space in the exercise of power, the vocation of the novel to host History and, collaterally, the methodological effectiveness of socio-criticism for analysis of literary narrative. On the other hand, a century after the events narrated in this novel occurred, it contains key elements to decipher the historical genesis of certain scourges (injustice, corruption, violence, impunity) that until today cloud the life of the country and slow its progress. . Hence the even political importance of its rereading for all Mexicans.
