The double dimension of discourse analysis: theoretical perspective and methodological tool
Resumen
The objective of this article is to expose the two dimensions that make up discourse analysis. The first allows it to be characterized as a theoretical perspective with a more or less critical bias; the second, the possibility of using it as a methodological tool to construct, describe and interpret linguistic data. In order to exemplify both dimensions, an analysis of a news text is carried out, in which the relationship between prominent groups and the press in a province in southern Argentina is evident. The focus is on two properties of the news text - narrative and argumentative - and on the social representations that it materializes.
