Environmental education : Social representations and their educational implications

Published 2013-04-07

Abstract

urrently the study of attitudes, values, opinions, beliefs, decision-making, socialization processes, relationships between groups, among other topics, is becoming increasingly relevant within the social sciences. This has highlighted the growing interest in studying social phenomena from the actor's perspective, that is, from the internalized forms of culture, resulting from the selective and hierarchical internalization of meaning patterns by social actors. Given that the theoretical-methodological approach of social representations allows precisely to identify the way in which social subjects construct, reconstruct and transform social reality, this proposal has acquired an important place in educational, communicational, cultural and political studies.
