Strategic management and organizational alignment: case study in philanthropic health institutions

Resumo

Strategic management and organizational alignment are fundamental for organizations that work in a Network. _ The field of strategy is vast and presupposes organizations in constant evolution and adaptation. The alignment for Mintzberg et al. (2006) is a necessary adjustment that should occur between environment, strategy, and resources. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) for Kaplan and Norton (2004, 2006) is a tool increasingly used to measure the performance of organizations and leads to the alignment between the strategy and the corporate unit of the strategy The purpose of this work is to present a case study on strategic management and organizational alignment in philanthropic health institutions. Its objective is to analyze the strategic management structure of Associação Alpha and its alignment with the operational unites hospitals, based on the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the management system and, in the end, proposing a new strategic management model with a view to effective management by results.
