The objective of this document is to identify how the University - Company linkage processes have been in the transfer of technology through university patents from the perspective of companies as recipients of knowledge. _ A review of extracted documents was carried out by national and international databases, on the transfer of knowledge to the environment from the universities, and semi-structured interviews were carried out with companies that in some way have appropriated, used, or profited from university patents. It was found that the university-company relationship wasIt is due to a joint need of the parties, on the university side, to introduce their knowledge to the production processes and, on the part of the organizations, to have innovation processes that allow them to be more competitive. That this connection is favored _by factors such as the support of the state to work together with the university and, in turn, is hampered by barriers such as the difference in time in carrying out the processes between the actors involved as a consequence of the regulations of the Universidad.
