Analyzing Uruguay's Investment Law: A Fiscal Policy Demonstrating Interest in Costa Rica's Studio Performance

The law is analyzed and recognized studies are presented that report on the social and productive performance of its tax incentives. We study how its benefits compensate for its tax sacrifices, strengthen the productive environment and promote exports. Costa Rica also has tax incentives for foreign investment with its Free Zone Regime and promotes exports with excellent results, but does not establish performance parameters. The relevance of studying Uruguay's experience is because its analysis and discussion can serve to enrich Costa Rica's tax incentive regime.
