Intercultural capital and socio-educational position: a statistical analysis of reading practices in foreign languages ​​in the contemporary German population

Based on the data collected by the Allgemeine Bevölkerungsumfrage der Sozialwissenschaften 2016 survey, this article aims to predict the incorporation of intercultural capital in terms of foreign language reading practices in a nationally representative sample of contemporary Germans aged 18 years or more, and with German nationality by birth. The corresponding binary logistic regression analysis reveals a statistically significant impact marked particularly by the social classes in which the respondents perceive themselves and by their level of formal education. The explanatory impact, statistically measured
