Résumé

The book is the product of an investigation whose object of study was an apparent paradox. On the one hand, the increase in environmental concerns brought about by the development of environmental standards and participatory mechanisms for information, consultation and negotiation in the sector; and on the other, the persistence of conflictive situations that lead to the blocking of public decision.

The study focused on the field of waste because the location of the infrastructures for its management (dumps, incinerators, composting plants, etc.) has constituted a fertile field for the emergence of conflicts, mobilizations, oppositions and various forms of conflict that They involve social actors, local authorities and economic agents, often in the area of proximity.
