Boosting SMEs' Business Competitiveness through Strategic Planning and Management Skills

Resumen

21st century organizations face a dynamic and complex environment characterized by uncertainty, so they must be prepared to respond to changes to achieve their organizational objectives that help them achieve business competitiveness; In this context there are also Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which due to their structural characteristics tend to be at a disadvantage compared to large companies that have greater resources and capabilities at their disposal. The objective of the research was to measure the influence of Strategic Planning and Management Skills as internal factors in the Business Competitiveness perceived by entrepreneurs of SMEs in Hermosillo, Sonora. A mixed investigation was carried out, where the first phase consisted of an analysis based on a panel of experts (Delphi method), with the purpose of validating the measurement instrument (face validity) through the opinions of the experts and, the second phase was a statistical analysis with PLS structural equation modeling technique. The results show that strategic planning and management skills as internal factors of SMEs influence business competitiveness.
