The impact of transformational leadership and organizational change on organizational citizenship

Resumen

The impact of transformational leadership styles and organizational change on organizational citizenship behaviors was investigated. The sample consisted of 213 workers of both sexes who responded to the multifactorial leadership questionnaire and the organizational citizenship behavior scale. Standard multiple linear regression analyzes showed that: Transactional leadership style positively predicts its dimensions associated with creating a favorable environment for the organization in the external environment; The transformational leadership style positively predicts the dimensions of communicators related to the creative suggestions of the system; creating a favorable climate for the organization in the external environment, for self-training and cooperation with colleagues; The transformational leadership style offered greater predictive power to communication managers than the transactional leadership style. It has been concluded that transformational leaders are more willing to lead their subordinates to take actions beyond their assigned roles.
