Culture as a semiotic system: a redefinition of the idea of ​​culture from the systemic perspective

Resumen

This work integrates under Mario Bunge's system a broader conception of the idea of ​​culture. By considering any semiotic system as a symbol system that also encompasses its users, and each culture as a semiotic system, this proposal enables an association between immaterial symbol systems and those with a socio-material base through a formulation that is not clearly material or conceptual but combines elements of both. The objective is to propose an ontology of culture more consistent with emergentist materialism, which also serves to integrate it into the social sciences.
