Cognitive Processes Behind Psychic Experiences: A Cross-Cultural Study

Published 2021-07-16

Abstract

This study investigates the cognitive processes underlying psychic experiences across different cultural contexts in Africa. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative assessments of psychic phenomena with qualitative interviews to explore participants' cognitive and emotional responses. The findings suggest that cultural beliefs significantly influence the interpretation and reliability of psychic experiences, with variations observed between urban and rural populations. Additionally, the study identifies common cognitive patterns, such as heightened intuition and emotional resonance, that appear to facilitate psychic sensitivity. By uncovering the cognitive dimensions of psychic phenomena, this research contributes to the fields of parapsychology and cognitive psychology, advocating for further interdisciplinary exploration of human consciousness and psychic abilities.
