Psychic Phenomena in the Digital Age: Social Media and Spiritual Communities in Brazil

Abstract

This research explores the role of social media in shaping perceptions of psychic phenomena and spiritual communities in Brazil. Through content analysis of social media platforms and interviews with community members, the study examines how digital spaces facilitate the sharing of psychic experiences and spiritual practices. The findings indicate that social media serves as a vital platform for connection, validation, and education among individuals interested in parapsychology. However, the study also highlights challenges such as misinformation and commercialization. By analyzing the impact of digital communication on the landscape of psychic phenomena, this research contributes to the fields of parapsychology and media studies, offering insights for practitioners and researchers navigating the complexities of spiritual communities in the digital age.
