From Tierra Caliente to the Sierra and Costa Chica de Guerrero: forced internal displacement.
Abstract
This work addresses the forced internal displacement (DIF) of mestizo peasant families from the towns of Los Ciruelos, Hacienda de Dolores and La Laguna of the ejido de los Guajes de Ayala, municipality of Coyuca de Catalán, Tierra Caliente Guerrero region, who began their journey from 2011 because of extreme violence. In 2013, the displaced were relocated to three locations, one in the Sierra de Petatlán and two more in the municipality of Ayutla de los Libres, Costa Chica region, Guerrero. The information presented is part of the field work that I carried out in the current settlements during the period from June to July 2018. The main objective is to make visible the intersections of violence that are interwoven in relation to the DIF of these three localities. The result is the visibility of the voices of displaced people showing the complexity of the DIF. It is concluded that there is a scaffolding that supports a continuum of violence through various actors fighting for territorial control.
