State movementism. Power, legitimacy and Territory in 360

Abstract

State Movementism is a set of political agreements, institutional arrangements, public policies and social programs with which Latin American States and governments are trying to renew the legitimacy of their political and administrative power over the territory based on a new relationship with the second generation of social movements. The State Movement is a late reaction to the changes that the latter have been proposing in the region for more than 30 years. Governments of the broadest ideological spectrum (neoliberals and the new Latin American left) are using a new and diverse toolbox of territorial management that includes the creation of new movements, co-management of public policies, articulations in government programs and other innovations technological and management
