Recommendations for the study of social representations in educational research

Abstract

he purpose of this text is to present some recommendations for the development of studies of social representations in education, emphasizing the collection and interpretation of empirical material under qualitative methodology. The article is organized into six sections: the methodological approaches that prevail in the work of social representations, the social representations as a research problem, the design of the semi-structured interview to capture them, the interpretation process to reveal the social representations, the writing of results and final reflections. It is considered that the generation of studies, under any approach, is a work of a traditional nature where different knowledge, skills, values, experiences that the researcher puts into play intervene.
